Hello Again... 03/05/2009

Hey everybody!

It's been about two and a half months since my last blog post, and for that I apologize!  I got off to a great start, but it's way harder than I thought to keep up with the blog regularly.

It's kind of behind the scenes, so some of you might read this and think, "What?"  but since the beginning of the year we've been really preparing our Student Ministry (including Revolution College Ministry) for growth.  So life has been crazy.

I don't think I had actual hair last time I blogged!  Check out some of the new pics on "The 705" page to see the new "do".

I guess the coolest thing I can say in this blog entry is that God has really been doing some amazing things in my personal walk with Him lately.

I got to spend a weekend with my wife, my friend Dave Guinn, and 11 of our student leaders at the LIVE LOVE conference with Francis Chan and Kristian Stanfill in Orlando.  Hearing Francis speak and being led to worship by Kristian was SO refreshing for me.  It's a rare opportunity for me to be a part of a worship service that I'm not either leading or playing in...so I really needed those times.

Seeing God for who He really is.  Actually dwelling on His nature and His character during worship.  Being able to step back, be quiet, and "survey the wonderful cross".  I REALLY needed those things last weekend.

God has been rockin' my socks as I'm reading through Genesis and Zecharaiah right now.  The depth of sin and depravity in even the great Fathers of the Faith and how God showed unmerited favor in so many situations.  His faithfulness is unimaginable.

Zecharaiah is...kind of tough to read!  But, just when I feel like I'm mired in a mess of apocalyptic jargon, Zecharaiah gives me something awesome to hold on to.  Today, in Chapter 8 I was going nuts trying to figure out what all this stuff means when I came across the prophecy in verses 22-23 that talks about Pentecost...I need those prophecies sometimes!  They are so strengthening to to faith.

Til the whole world knows,

Pastor Kevin
